Qualifications: Dr. McCartney is a Certified Safety Professional, Registered Professional Industrial Hygienist, and Certified Safety Instructor with 40 years of experience in both safety and health; in chemical manufacturing, product manufacturing, heavy equipment, construction, refineries, petrochemical industry, pipeline construction and pipeline regulatory, wellsite exploration (onshore and offshore) and oil and gas production. Dr. McCartney has worked in safety and health in the Marcellus Shale area for 10 years in Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Dr. McCartney has held safety positions with two Fortune 300 companies and held a Safety Officer II with OSHA Consultation. Dr. McCartney has held the position of Adjunct Faculty with Texas Engineering Extension (TEEX) at Texas A&M University.

Experience: Dr. McCartney has experience in construction, manufacturing, oil and gas, pipeline, and chemical manufacturing industries. Primary areas of expertise are: Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Human Factors and Ergonomics, employee exposures, OSHA regulations, NFPA Standards, Arc Flash, Electrical Safety, Oil and Gas, Pipelines, Construction, Equipment and Machinery, Machine Guarding, Accident Investigation and Reconstruction, Asbestos, and Lead.

 

Professional Memberships: Dr. McCartney is a professional member of the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE),  National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP), American Congress Of Governmental Industrial Hygienists, (ACGIH), and American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA).
